Lessons

In addition to boarding and training services, The Barracks offers a lesson program dedicated to thoughtful, quality development of horse and rider. Our trainers work with students whose skills span a variety of levels, ranging from beginner riders to those competing at the top levels of hunter, jumper, and equitation divisions. Our lesson program is tailored to meet the goals and interests of each student, which creates a comfortable, hands-on atmosphere for all.

The Barracks lesson program is noted for its capable, quality horses and ponies, many of whom are in their secondary careers after earning prestigious show records. We credit these horses for delivering confident rides to each student – they are the true superstars of the barn. If a rider participating in lessons has an interest to show at area schooling shows or “A” shows, then we will match the student with an appropriate horse or pony.

Screening Ride: $75

• Individuals riding at The Barracks for the first time are required to do a screening ride with one of our instructors. This screening ride will enable the instructor to correctly place the individual at the appropriate level and give time for discussing future riding goals.

Individual Lesson: $90

10 Lesson Package - These options must be paid upon sign up and all 10 lessons
must be taken within 3 months of the first lesson.

• On Barracks Horse - $850 

• On Own Horse - $750

Introductory Youth Package: $600 

• Package consists of 10 lessons for youth new to The Barracks up to 15 years old.
